Our Story
Mission Statement
They Gave We Give Foundation exists to honor veterans' service through action by providing essential resources, positive solutions, and compassionate support during life's critical transitions. We focus on veterans moving from homelessness to stable housing, ensuring no one who answered the call to serve faces these pivotal moments alone.
Vision Statement
We envision communities across the Midlands where every veteran's dignity is restored and strengthened, creating a foundation for generational impact. When veterans thrive, they pay forward the support they received — honoring the commitment that defines them when they signed their name on the forever check.
They Gave We Give Foundation is a vital piece of the veteran support puzzle, transforming civilian gratitude into meaningful action and creating partnerships that honor sacrifice through tangible support and lasting change.
Core Values
Dignity
We honor every veteran's inherent worth and treat each interaction as an opportunity to restore pride and hope.
Respect
Veterans have given everything for our freedom. We meet them where they are with honor, never judgment.
Compassion
We lead with heart — for the veterans we serve and for each other as a team, recognizing that sustainable impact requires care in all directions.
Collaboration
We create a culture of open ideas, partnering with existing organizations and welcoming passionate volunteers who share our commitment to veteran support.
Integrity
We do what we say we'll do. Our word and our actions align, always.
Transparency
We operate with complete openness about our programs, finances, and impact — because trust is earned through honesty.
A Little More About Us!
Why we exist:
A veteran's need does not end after one holiday drive or one annual fundraiser. The weeks after move-in are when the stress is highest, and the bills, the empty rooms and the long bus rides add up fast. We were formed to be there all year, not once a year.
How we work:
We work directly with entities who tell us when a veteran is moving into housing. Support is time-limited, because the goal is independence. Veterans need roughly six months to find work and carry their own rent, and the first 90 days matter most.
Where we serve:
We serve the Midlands of South Carolina today, and we plan to grow across the state.
